"MAXWELL" (Chiweenie) JUST ARRIVED!!

The moment you meet MAXWELL, you'll want to pick him up and hold him tight. Maxwell is a two year old Chiweenie, weighing in at 13 pounds. He has had a very good life, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, his owner had to find him a new home. She contacted me to help. Happily I agreed to take him in and he is truly the perfect small dog. Lovable, happy, healthy, well-adjusted, content, friendly, and energetic, are just a few of the traits that describe Maxwell. He seamlessly fit into our household including two teens, and two dogs.

Running full throttle around the backyard, fetching his rope toy, playing with his “sisters”, or walking around the block, Maxwell enjoys being in the great outdoors. Following his outdoor adventures, he is ready for a siesta on the couch, or a nap on the bed. He sleeps quietly through the night on the bed, or in a crate. He is housebroken and seems to love everyone. He rarely barks indoors, yet occasionally voices his opinion to the neighborhood dogs.

Maxwell has always been loved, and now he is ready to find a new family and his forever home. He would be happy in an apartment or a house. He will need a place to get his daily exercise: a yard, walks, or a trip to the dog park. Most importantly, Maxwell needs a home with people who will love him, hold him, give him attention, play with toys, go for rides in the car, and treat him as a member of their family. In return, “Max” will be the perfect companion. He has already claimed a very special place in my heart. I'm sure he will capture yours too.

**************************************************************************"MACEY" (Yorkie/Maltese) JUST ARRIVED!!

Hello Everyone – My name is Maycee, and I am looking for my forever home!  I am a Moorkie, that means half Yorkie and half Maltese, and I have a personality that fits both breeds to the tee, I am a ball of love and energy, loyalty and trust, and I really have alot to offer.  My foster mom is working on house training me, and Im kind of getting it, but I have had a few accidents,. Totally understandable, after all I am still a puppy and have not yet been spayed. I will however be spayed in the next day and that's really going to help me lots!!.. I I will get there with love and support, we are making great progress. As a matter of fact she taught me to sit in 10 minutes (the treats were great), she always tells me how incredibly smart I am!  I like to be in the same room with you when I can, and I have a leash that I love cause it means we get to take a walk!!! YEAH !!!  Right now I have a foster sister that I love to play with, I do like to bark sometimes when I get excited and want your attention, but again I am nothing more then a big baby!  I think I would do best with a brother or sister about my same size, cause I dont like BIG dogs, they scare me!  I weight about 9lbs right now, and I do love to eat, so I might grow just a little more, but not much, all the energy I have keeps me looking and feeling pretty good!  I love chew toys, especially those things called rawhide sticks, but most of all, I love being in the presence of my human, the sound of your voice is like music to my ears.  Foster mom says I will do best in a family with other small dogs, or an individual for whom I can be the one and only, as long as I am loved and cared for, I love kids, dont mind cats (Im still trying to figure out what those strange looking creatures are) and love, love, love to play!   I have had a couple of homes already, and Im only 5 mos old, so foster mom says its important that I find a home that is special, where I will be forever loved and adored for the sweet little girl that I am!!   I look forward to meeting you, I assure you, you're gonna wuv me!!!

OMG what a stunning boy!!.. Those eyes are just amazing aren't they?... Ozzie was found believe it or not.,  on the euthanasia list at one of the shelters.. Why? because he was afraid while being held there... I am amazed at what almost took place,  and was even more amazed, when I saw this boys beauty,  upon meeting him. It would have been such a loss for this dog to  have been killed.. He is incredibly  beautiful.  He is believed to be around 14 months old. He is loving, sweet and very obedient.. He does very well with other dogs and loves people.. He means alot to Ozzie to be with his care takers, so I want to place him with someone who truly has the time to spend with him one on one.Ozzie needs an active family who is willing to run, take walks and have play time with him. .After all he is still a young dog and he does love the outdoors. Keep in mind though,  Ozzie is an indoor dog only, with the exception of his outdoor activity.  How he got away from his previous owner is beyond me, because he does stick close to his foster parents.  Ozzie's is just about completely housebroken now..  Ozzie is a smart boy and will learn just about anything someone takes the time to teach him..The skies the limit for this wonderful boy.   Ozzie has been fully vetted now and is ready to find his forever home. Anyone who adopts will certainly be proud to have him as part of their family He is definitely a show stopper by all means!!

Lady is a female, 11 pound terrier mix. Sweetest girl eve!!. She is house trained, walks well on a leash and does well in the car. She gets along great with all dogs and kids too!! She really loves her bath time and she seems to look all the attention.. Something she probably never got in the past. Although she does well in a crate,  her foster mom says do not have to crate he which is great. She loves to play and will carry  her toys around the house, but Lady is also a  great lap dog as well. She truly is the best f both worlds. She  will even let you hold her like a baby to pet her. She barks when someone is at the door to alert you, but quiets down when told. She loves to sleep with you and snuggles realy close to whom ever allows her this luxuryl  She is a wonderful dog that would make a great addition to any home. Give us a call to me this darling girl we have names Lady.

"MAYER" (Dachshund) JUST ARRIVED!!

Mayer (as in Oscar Mayer) is a 5 yr old purebred smooth coated Dachshund.  Mayer is sweet, quiet and very lovable.  He will shoot under the covers or sleep cuddled up next to your side if you will allow him.  He's a bit shy, almost timid at first so whoever the lucky person or family to adopt Mayer is, will need to be very patient and love on him a lot to help Mayer continue to gain confidence in people again.  He's not snappy at all,  and is very submissive.  He gets along with my dachshunds but he needed a day of getting to know his surroundings before introduction to the rowdy bunch!  I have Mayer on Blue Buffalo senior formula with salmon oil added and his coat is so soft!  He also gets antlers, stuffed KONG chew toys and CET Enzymatic chew strips to wear away at the tartar on his teeth.  Mayer is 5 and could probably stand to have a dental done although it isn't affecting his health, just a suggestion.  Mayer is 12 lbs, fully vetted, heartworm negative and on flea/tick/hw/parasite protection and MICROCHIPPED!  He is an absolute doll and you are sure to fall head over heals upon meeting him.

"WINSTON"  (Shepherd/Collie mix) JUST ARRIVED!!

Winston (as we call him) is one of the most lovable, gentle, and calm dogs you will ever see.  He was a little shy at first but within a day, he was playing with our dog and acting right at home. Sadly Winston was given up because his owner felt they had too many dogs.. He was the chosen one to be dropped off at a kill shelter.. It's unbelievable how any one could do this to this boy. He has an incredible spirit and is so loving.   He doesn't chase the cats but acts like he wants to play with them.  I've never seen the cats act so relaxed around another dog so quickly.  Winston is a pretty large dog and his size can be a little intimidating but he is as gentle as a lamb.  Often when you are sitting down, he will walk up and put his head on your knee asking for your attention and love.  He really loves to be loved.  He sometimes will chase a ball but he is not very good at it.  He is very fond of chewing toys like large bones or rawhide chews.  He appears to be only partially house broken but he is learning quickly.  For a week or two frequent trips outside are recommended.  He looks like he is a German Shepherd/Collie mix, both of which are very intelligent breeds.  He does well on a leash when walking.  Due to his size, a training school is highly recommended to be able to manage him properly.  He is friendly with strangers.  Winston will make a wonderful, loyal companion for many years. .He is stunning in person...

"RUSS" (Cocker Spaniel) JUST ARRIVED!!

Meet Russ!  Russ is a 2 1/2 year old male American Cocker Spaniel.  You will enjoy every minute of his company.  He enjoys playing with the many toys at his foster home but we think his favorite just maybe playing fetch with the tennis balls.  He knows how to sit and is completely housebroken!  Russ gets along very well with kids and the other dogs in his foster home as well.  Unfortunately he is a little too fond of cats, so no cats please!  Russ enjoys having his soft hair brushed and his tummy rubbed or just being with his family, he is an inside dog only, except of course to go outside to potty or for walks.  He truly is a happy loving soul and will melt your heart.  His biggest goal in life is to love and be loved, he is just that sweet. Russ is a bigger boy weighing in around 30lbs.  and is absolutely gorgeous!!  Won't you consider sharing your future with this wonderful fun loving boy, he will bless your life with love and laughter!

"BETTY" (Terrier mix) JUST ARRIVED!!

Betty is as sweet as they come. She is a little skittish at first, but I think the shelter environment was scary for her. She warms up quickly and is a total lover. She is about 2-4 years old and completely potty trained. She gets along great with her foster brothers (big dog and small dog) and her kitty sister too. When we first met, Betty was terribly frightened but from the time we walked out the door of the shelter she was nothing but a love.  She shows no signs of aggression with food or toys or if you catch her off guard. She is HW- and is up to date on her shots and has a microchip. She was spayed yesterday and is healing well. She has a wirey coat, that will need to be groomed and sheds very little. She is somewhat shy, but her personality shines once she opens up. She will probably be best with adults or older children , but she has not yet been with children. She will need a backyard to play in and I think she would be happy with a friend or being the only dog. She has a cute little under bite. She is easy going and sweet as pie :) She is our little Betty Boop..

"SUGAR" (Poodle) JUST ARRIVED!!

Sugar was picked up a lost dog. How she got lost no one truly knows.  A good Samaritan took her into their home knowing they could not keep her for long.  After a few weeks they had to find another alternative and that is where HSR came into play. We gladly stepped up to take in this little girl who's past is a mystery.  She have been nothing but a good girl since coming into our organization. Here is what her foster mom had to say about her. 

Sugar is a little princess so dainty and sweet!  She is about a year old.  Sugar can play with the best of them or is perfectly content lounging with her humans!  Sugar would be happiest in a quiet, calm house.  She gets along great with other dogs, big or small.  Not sure about cats or small children though.  She is spayed, HW negative and healthy. Sugar is sure to bless your home with love and kisses should you adopt her into your family!!!

"SARA" (Lhasa Apso) JUST ARRIVED!!

Hi!  My name is Sarah.  I am a happy little princess who was rescued from a bad situation and brought to Harbored Souls by some very nice ladies.  My foster mommy thinks I'm super cute and super sweet.  I like to chase her feet when she's getting ready for work in the morning.

I am very mildly HW+, but undergoing A slow kill method of treatment for it.  I've had all my shots, and I'm almost completely housebroken.  I told my foster mommie  that I didn't know any better before coming to live with her, and she seems to understand that I am trying my best.

I like to snuggle and I will sleep right next to you anywhere.  I'm learning to walk on a leash.  I'm getting better at it, even though this is all new to me.  I like to play with toys and my foster fur-siblings.  I like everyone I meet  and enjoying all this new found attention, something I have never had in my life.. I had a mild case of Cherry Eye but the people at HSR who love me had the surgery taken care of and I am good as new.   Once I get to know you, I'll chase your feet too and smother you will love as well! I am a wonderful little girl waiting for the love I have never had until now.... Life has become amazing!

"DEXTER"  (Dachshund-Schnauzer mix) JUST ARRIVED!!

Dexter we think could be a  a dachshund-schnauzer mix, known in the doggie glam world as a DESIGNER DOG!  He's about a year old, neutered very recently prior to being rescued and is at his full grown size of about 15 lbs.  He could use maybe another pound but he's at a really nice weight presently.  

Dexter LOVES to play and so he's still got some puppy behaviors in him, like wrestling and tug of war.  His teeth are bright and shiny as is his gorgeous wire coat and eyes!  He's getting along great with his dachshund foster pack! 

We were told Dexter would need time to heal emotionally after being dumped on the side of the road in East Texas but so far, there's not one hint of anything but funny, playful and happy Dexter!  (nothing like his Showtime namesake's dark side!)

He walks great on a leash, seems to know sit, is crate trained and learning to use the doggie door.  He's a love with loads of energy and would do great with an active household with a lot of room to run and play.  This is one precious little boy!!

"LINCOLN" (Cocker Spaniel) JUST ARRIVED!!

This boy is about a year old and was rescued from a breeding operation where he had spent his life in a cage. Despite that, he loves to roll over and receive belly rubs and loves people. Lincoln,  also likes to explore his surroundings until he gets tired and then a nap will quickly follow once he has had enough of his adventure.  Because of his past, Lincoln doesn’t yet know what toys are all about,  or how to play with them,  but his foster parents  are working on that, as well as, how to walk on a leash, which is he picking up very  quickly. He is housetrained and is learning to use a doggy door. Lincoln is up to date on all of his shots and is already neutered and groomed. He would make a great family pet.  Will you be the one to adopt this beautiful boy and show him a whole new way of life?

"JOHNNY" (Chihuahua) JUST ARRIVED

JOHNNY has been totally vetted and fixed. He is 2 yrs old and is approx 7 1/2 lbs.  He uses doggie door on his own and is a quick learner.  He is housebroken due to the doggie door and, he loves to be loved on and sitting on your lap. This little guy is so sweet he will push his head in your chest when your loving on him. He is trying to make up for all the  love he has never received...I feel Johnny would do best without children.. He prefers a quieter environment  and playing  but does play well with his foster siblings. Overall he is a great little dog... All Johnny needs now is a home to call his very own and to be loved the rest of his life..

"WHITNEY" (Aussie mix) JUST ARRIVED!!

Whitney is a wonderful boy.  He was saved as a puppy from an abusive situation and can be a bit skittish when in a large, crowded area and around lots of new people.  However, he does love people and is a friendly, sweet and loving dog.  Unfortunately the person who rescued him had to give up her dogs due to a divorce.  It was not an easy decision but she didn't have any other choice.  That is when HSR took Whitney in.  He's a young guy, only 2 years old, and has a very calm nature about him. Whitney is truthworthy in the house and does not bark.  He is fully housetrained and goes to the door when he wants to go out.  He is a medium-sized dog with gorgeous eyes.  This is such a beautiful boy and all he truly wants is love...He trains very easily and would greatly enjoy learning new things.  We are now working on our walking skills, which is going well as Whitney loves his walks.  He loves to be by his people snuggling or just lying near you hanging out.  He also will play with toys and likes to chase after a ball. He gets along with other dogs; he now lives in a home with six other dogs, ranging in size from 8 lbs to 80 lbs. This is a very easy boy to care for and just an over all wonderful boy!
